Denver got its first taste of long-awaited burger chain Shake Shack when the restaurant popped up serving burgers and fries inside The Source on Saturday.
Fans waited for hours in a line that wove through the market hall and out to the back of the RiNo parking garage where heat lamps kept them warm. A 35-degree day couldn’t stop these burger lovers who are looking forward to Denver’s first shop opening in the neighborhood this summer.
Just before Denver was served its first ShackBurgers, owner Danny Meyer had Shake Shack COO Zach Koff make an announcement: There will be a second Shake Shack location in Colorado by the end of the year.
In-N-Out announced in recent months its entry to the Colorado market with plans for a restaurant and distribution center in Colorado Springs
Shake Shack Highlands Ranch will open this summer.
