Memphis Redbirds at Sky Sox

Game times: 6:35 p.m. Friday, 6:05 p.m. Saturday, 1:35 p.m. Sunday, 6:35 p.m. Monday

What to watch: In an odd scheduling quirk, the teams go from four games together in Memphis to four more in Colorado Springs. ... The Redbirds feature three of the organization's top four prospects. ... The first two nights of the series (Friday and Saturday) have fireworks shows scheduled.


Memphis prospects to track

Oscar Taveras, CF - The organization's top prospect and touted by Baseball America as "the top hitting prospect developed by the Cardinals since Albert Pujols," Taveras is bating .316 with five home runs and 18 RBIs. His days in the minor leagues are numbered.

Kolten Wong, 2B - A former first-round pick and the presumed longterm answer at second base for St. Louis, Wong was shipped down this past week after batting .225 over the first 20 games for the Cardinals.

Stephen Piscotty, RF - A Stanford grad who was taken with one of two compensation picks for Pujols (Michael Wacha was the other), Piscotty is a polished hitter with good power.

David Aardsma - Cherry Creek graduate has logged 298 relief appearances over eight big-league seasons. . Pete Kozma - Drove in five runs in the 2012 NLDS against Washington as a rookie. . Shane Robinson - Has appeared in 237 games for St. Louis since 2009.
