U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., was in Colorado Springs to tour Diversified Machine Systems.

The tour was part of Bennet's CO Innovation Tour to highlight innovation and entrepreneurship across the state. DMS employs 66 to make large precision-cutting and shaping machines.

Last year, DMS won the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance's Excellence in Manufacturing Award and it is a 2014 Colorado Companies to Watch finalist.

"Innovation exists in all forms - not just iPods and electronics - and DMS is a perfect example of that," Bennet said.
