A second arrest has been made in a deadly shooting of Daniel Baird.
Brian Springsted, 32, has been arrested on suspicion of first degree murder, according to KOAA News 5. He is being held without bond.
The shooting happened at the 1100 block of Main Street on Saturday in the Security-Widefield area.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office identified the man fatally shot at a residence in Security-Widefield on Saturday.
Daniel Baird, 37, of Colorado Springs, was identified as the first homicide victim in unincorporated El Paso County this year, according to a statement from the sheriff's office Monday.
Michael Malory, 59, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with Baird's death.
Malory lived in the home on the 1000 block of Main Street, but authorities did not say how he and the victim were linked.
The coroner ruled Baird's death a homicide and determined it was caused by gunshot wounds, the statement said.
Four other people were in the house at the time of the shooting, said sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jeff Kramer. Their names or connection to the victim were not released.
According to the statement, a deputy was monitoring traffic near Plute Park in Security-Widefield about 2 p.m. when a man approached the patrol car and reported the shooting.
Malory will make his first appearance at the El Paso County courthouse Friday at 9 a.m., records show.
