Gazette Premium Content Second arrest made in Cressey murder

A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Daniel Cressey, whose body was found May 28 in Fountain Creek in Pueblo, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's office.

Howard Box, 48, was arrested June 13 in Arizona.

Cressey was murdered at a home in the 5000 block of Hopkins Drive in Security.

Investigators arrested Jessy Jo Jewel Barnes on June 11, charging her with First Degree Murder for the death of Cressey.

Further investigation found that Box was also allegedly involved in the murder and an arrest warrant was obtained for him for Accessory to First Degree Murder, the sheriff's office said.

During this same time, it was learned Box fled Colorado for Arizona.

Investigators from EPSO coordinated with the Phoenix Police Department who arrested Box and booked him into the Maricopa County Jail.
