Do you know a Colorado senior volunteer who deserves to be recognized for service to the community?
Home Instead Inc., franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care network, is accepting nominations of deserving older adults for its Salute to Senior Service program. State winners receive $500 for their designated nonprofit; a donation of $5,000 goes to the national winner's charity.
"Seniors have so much to give and make a positive impact on our communities daily," said Robin Mosey, a Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner in the Colorado Springs area. "Senior volunteerism not only benefits others but also helps seniors stay active and socially engaged in their communities - important elements of healthy aging."
Nominees must be 65 or older and volunteer at least 15 hours a month to their favorite causes.
To complete and submit an online nomination form and to view the contest's official rules, go to SalutetoSenior Service.com.
Completed nomination forms also can be mailed to Salute to Senior Service, P.O. Box 285, Bellevue, NE 68005.
Nominations must be submitted by March 1. State winners will be determined by online voting at the organization's website; the public can vote up to once per day through March 1. Winners will be announced in April.
