A Widefield School District 3 school bus with five students on board collided with an SUV near the intersection of Rolling Ridge Road and Heritage Road on Monday morning.
None of the students was injured when a white Ford Explorer crashed with the school bus, Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid said.
The students, who are all in elementary school, were transported on a separate bus and their parents were notified, said Widefield spokeswoman Samantha Briggs.
"All the kids are fine and there was minimum damage to our school bus," Briggs said.
The five students were checked by the school nurse and resumed classes as usual, Briggs said.
The bus crashed with the Explorer shortly before 7:30 a.m. southeast of Fontaine Boulevard and Marksheffel Road, Reid said.
According to state patrol reports, the school bus was traveling westbound on Rolling Ridge Road and the Explorer pulled out in front of the bus on Heritage Road, failing to stop.
The driver of the SUV was ticketed for failure to yield and the weather did not play a part in the accident.
