Schedule: Avalanche vs. Predators, NHL playoffs, first round

The Colorado Avalanche will open the NHL's Western Conference playoffs Thursday at the top-seeded Nashville Predators.

The Avalanche earned the final berth in the Western Conference with its 5-2 victory over the visiting St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.

Colorado and Nashville will face off in Game 1 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Game 2 will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Nashville.

The Predators finished the regular season with a 53-18-11 record and 117 points, going unbeaten against the Avalanche in four games.

The Avs (43-30-9, 95 points) host games 3 and 4 on Monday, April 16 and April 18, both 8 p.m. starts.

Game 5 will be played in Nashville on Friday, April 20, if necessary.

Game 6, if necessary, will be Sunday, April 22, in Denver.

Game 7, if necessary, will be Tuesday, April 24, in Nashville.

The Predators are the defending Western Conference playoff champions, reaching the Stanley Cup finals last year before falling to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
