Last season, Dylan Clark missed the majority of Sand Creek's second game at Lewis-Palmer, a showdown that proved to cost the Scorpions the league title.

When Clark on the court early, the Scorpions jumped out to a big lead. When he sat, they quickly crumbled. An illness severely limited his playing time, especially in that crucial second half.

Afterward, coach Joe Rausch pointed out that as went Clark, so went the Scorpions.

The Air Force Falcons will get to see that firsthand two seasons from now. On Thursday, Clark, a senior-to-be at Sand Creek, verbally committed to play basketball for the Falcons, according to his club team Colorado Chaos D1 Ambassadors.

In 2012-13, Clark averaged 10.9 points, grabbed 115 rebounds and led the Scorpions with 99 assists.

The Sand Creek point guard will join a growing list of area players who are choosing to stick around Colorado Springs and play for the Falcons.

DeLovell Earls (Colorado Springs School) started last year as a sophomore, Kamryn Williams (Sierra) will be a junior and had an impact off the bench, and incoming freshmen Kyle Broekhuis (CSCS) and Dezmond James (played at Lewis-Palmer in 2010-11 before transferring to Ponderosa) should see time.

Taylor Broekhuis (CSCS) just graduated from the academy.

Clark will be able to sign his national letter of intent in November.
