An award-winning documentary focused on the formation of a national cycling team in war-battered Rwanda will premiere in Colorado Springs.

“Rising from Ashes” will be shown at 7 p.m. April 24 at the Stargazers Theatre & Event Center at 10 S. Parkside Dr.Drive.

The screening is sponsored by the newly formed CSprings Bike Initiative, which describes the feature-length documentary as a “joyous and uplifting” look at aspiring professional cyclists in a country still deeply affected by the 1994 genocide. The movie is the winner of audience awards and best film citations at several film festivals.

Advance tickets are $10 and can be purchased online here.

Tickets at the door will be $15.
