DENVER — Authorities are investigating after a recreational vehicle exploded in a grocery store parking lot in the Denver suburb of Thornton.

Police say the RV had been broken down for several days, and the owners were working on the fuel pump when the vehicle burst into flames and exploded at the King Soopers on East 120th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard on Saturday afternoon. KUSA-TV reports (http://on9news.tv/1fYiZQV ) no one was injured, and the blast is believed to be accidental.

Fire officials say a nearby car was damaged from heat generated by the explosion.
