Burgess Road just east of the intersection with Black Forest Road is expected to be closed until Friday evening as crews repair a gas line that was accidentally hit.

"There's road construction up there, and I think they hit the gas line," Dave Rose, spokesman for El Paso County government, said.

Traffic on Burgess Road is being routed south on Teachout Road to McFerran Road and then back to Black Forest.

"Workers are expected to complete the necessary repairs and traffic is expected to return to normal by Friday evening." Rose said in a news release.
