Even though they have a 100 years between their birthdays, Ventura Ruiz and her great-great grandson seem to have plenty to talk about. The family of Ruiz were celebrating her 103rd birthday with her on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Ruiz has lived in Colorado Springs for most of her life. She entertained at the Broadmoor as a vocalist and guitarist. She and her husband, Henri Ruiz, opened the first Mexican restaurant in Colorado Springs called Henri's in Old Colorado City.
