An unidentified man was taken into custody after a car crash and short foot chase at the Citadel Mall early Monday.

Officers on patrol tried to stop a vehicle around 12:30 a.m. on North Academy Boulevard, near Palmer Park Boulevard, for an expired registration.

The driver refused to stop and took officers on a short pursuit to North Academy and Portal Drive, where the car crashed at the entrance to the Citadel Mall.

Police said all occupants fled and one man was taken into custody, but did not release his identity.
