The Colorado Rockies placed infielder Josh Rutledge on the 15-day disabled list with a viral infection (retroactive to April 28). To replace him on the roster, the club recalled infielder Ryan Wheeler from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Rutledge, 25, began the year with Triple-A Colorado Springs where he hit .389 (7-for-18) before being recalled on April 9. In 11 games this year for Colorado, he hit .318 (7-for-22).

Wheeler, 25, has played in 24 games for Triple-A Colorado Springs this year, hitting .247 (24-for-97) with six doubles, three home runs and nine RBIs.
