The Colorado Rockies placed pitcher Tyler Chatwood on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow strain and recalled pitcher Chad Bettis from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Chatwood, 24, made four starts for the Rockies this year, going 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA. This will be his second stint on the disabled list this year.

In 2013, he started 20 games for the Rockies and went 8-5 with a 3.15 ERA.

Bettis, 24, began the season on the Rockies Opening Day roster for the first time in his career before he was optioned to Triple-A on April 25 where he made one scoreless appearance.

In 11 games with the Rockies this season, he is 0-1 with a 7.15 ERA.
