Colorado Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau begins a rehab assignment with the Colorado Sky Sox on Monday night when the team hosts Round Rock.

First pitch at Security Service Field is at 7:05 p.m.

The Rockies placed Morneau on the 15-day disabled list July 21 with a strained neck. The move was retroactive to July 14.

To take his place on the roster, the team selected the contract of infielder Ben Paulsen from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Morneau is hitting .312 with 13 homers and 60 RBIs. He participated in the Home Run Derby at the All-Star Game in Minnesota earlier this month.

Rockies left-handed relief pitcher Boone Logan also will begin a rehab assignment Monday night in Colorado Springs. Logan was placed on the 15-day disabled list with diverticulitis, a condition in which the inner lining of the intestine becomes inflamed or infected.
