CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) — It's surf's up for Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee (CHAY'-fee).
The Democratic governor has some adventurous plans for his Christmas vacation. He's headed with his family to Costa Rica, where he plans to learn to surf.
The governor on Thursday said he's flying from Miami to Liberia, Costa Rica.
From there, he'll head to the Pacific coast of the Central American country, known for having some of the best waves in the world.
Chafee says the whole family wants to learn. He plans to be gone for a week.
