A reg flag warning issued by the National Weather Service in Pueblo will be in place in much of southeast Colorado, including El Paso and Teller counties, from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The warning will bring conditions "favorable for the rapid ignition, growth and spread of fires," including relative humidity as low as 9 percent and 20 to 30 mph winds with gusts of up to 40 mph.

In Colorado Springs, expect sunny skies and a high of 82 degrees Tuesday, with winds of 5 to 10 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon, the weather service said. Wind gusts might reach 30 mph.

"We'll be warmer and a bit windy Tuesday," Gazette news partner KKTV reported, adding that "fire danger will be high."

The weather service predicted highs of 73 degrees Wednesday and 81 degrees Thursday, with sunny skies each day.

"Temperatures keep to the 70s and 80s through Thursday with lots of sunshine," KKTV reported.
