Peyton Manning has sold himself to America as gentle, polite, kind, patient, classy. On Saturday night in Denver, Manning expressed himself to Houston Texans safety D.J. Swearinger. And he was not gentle, polite, kind, patient or classy. Swearinger had just delivered a wicked hit on Wes Welker, causing a concussion. Manning responded with a simple, obscene message to Swearinger. This is not to say Manning is a phony. This is to say Manning is far more complicated than his image.
