The Broncos boast the AFC's second-best record, behind only the 5-0 Kansas City Chiefs.
But . . .
The Broncos three wins were against shaky competition. The Chargers, Cowboys and Raiders all are struggling this season with a combined 5-10 record. Remember, the Broncos barely defeated the Chargers and Raiders.
When the Broncos dominated the Cowboys, it seemed a big statement of their might. The Cowboys were expected to be among the NFC's most powerful teams.
That expectation has faded, perhaps on its way to vanishing.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, have defeated opponents with a combined 13-12 record, including a win over the 5-1 Eagles.
Sunday evening will not give Bronco fans a clear look at their team. The winless Giants are coming to Colorado.
But we'll soon see the true strength of the Broncos revealed.
The Broncos travel to Kansas City Oct.. 30 and to the utter madness that is the Eagles' home field on Nov. 5. Those trips will offer a clear look at the 2017 Broncos.
