The Sky Sox host Iowa in a four-game series that begins Friday - it includes a doubleheader Saturday that will be the Cubs' second twinbill in a four-day span. Here is a list of Iowa prospects to monitor during their time in Colorado Springs:
Jeimer Candelario, 3B/1B - Blocked on the corners of Chicago's infield by Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo, Candelario seems to have proven all he can in Triple-A (.313/.400/.542 in 124 games). Look for the 23-year-old switch hitter to surface in trade deadline conversations if the Cubs remain healthy at his spots.
Mark Zagunis, OF - Zagunis possesses perhaps the greatest batting eye in the minor leagues, having drawn 214 walks in 326 professional games. Even with an average that has sagged to .247 this year, he's still reaching base at a .406 clip. His strike-zone judgment has drawn comparisons to Kevin Youkilis. That will play at the next level, either in Chicago or elsewhere.
Victor Caratini, C - At 23, Caratini has enjoyed a breakout season with Iowa. He's batting .335/.378/.519. Those splits are nearly even from either side for the switch hitter, though the left side has been far more powerful.
