MEDORA, N.D. (AP) — The National Park Service has unveiled its proposal for a new visitor center in the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
The center was abandoned because unstable soil caused the building to move and sink. The temporary visitor center is located in the Juniper Campground, six miles from the North Unit entrance.
Park Superintendent Valerie Naylor says the park service is moving as quickly as possible on the new project. Public comment on the proposal will be taken until March 6.
