DENVER — A jury has found a prisoner not guilty of a murder-for-hire plot against an Arapahoe County prosecutor.

The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/1hsogV4 ) that Christian Harvey was acquitted Thursday of solicitation to commit murder. He was accused of trying to pay his cellmate $200 to kill the prosecutor who had handled a sex-assault case against Harvey.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation records show Harvey was charged with felony sexual assault on a child in 2012. The charge was reduced, and he was given a two-year deferred sentence. He was arrested in May for not complying with the sentence.

He was arrested on the attempted murder charges in early June.

The threatened prosecutor's name was not released.
