At Ponderosa: Kellie Mrofcza blasted her first home run of the season, but Vista Ridge struggled defensively with four errors that led to seven unearned runs on the road.
Ponderosa (1-0) used a five-run seventh inning to hand the Wolves (1-1) their first loss of 2013.
Mrofcza had a stellar day at the plate and finished 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and a run to go along with her solo blast.
The junior is 5-of-6 and has scored five runs through two games.
However, as a pitcher she was charged with the loss after surrendering eight runs (one earned) on 13 hits and one walk.
Mrofcza (1-1) struck out five batters.
Mrofcza has looked sharp in her two starts. She is averaging five strikeouts per game and has a 2.00 ERA.
Makayla Jewell extended her hitting streak to two games by registering Vista Ridge's other hit and also stole a base.
No stats were reported for Ponderosa.
Vista Ridge next takes to the field Friday when the Wolves host Pine Creek at home.
