Liberty 4, Smoky Hill 3, 2OT, (Liberty 4-2 PKs)

At Smoky Hill: No. 11 Liberty (12-3-2) overcame blowing a two-goal lead late in the game to knock off No. 6 Smoky Hill (11-3-2) and advance to the quarterfinals.

Freshman goalie Catherine Klein made one save during penalty kicks and the Lancers iced it on Kathryn Koch's PK.

'It shows we had to overcome a lot, ' Lancers coach Andy Liddle said. 'Even though we didn't get calls going our way, we had to fight the environment. '

Mountain Vista 3, Doherty 0

At Mountain Vista: The No. 1 seed played like it, shutting out Doherty (9-4-3) in the second round of the playoffs.

Cherry Creek 1,

Pine Creek 0, 2OT

At D20 Stadium: No. 10 Cherry Creek (10-4-1) upset No. 7 Pine Creek (10-5-2) with a goal in the second overtime.

3A playoffs

Manitou Springs 3,

No. 7 Frontier Academy 0

At UNC: Less than 12 hours after winning a double-overtime victory, No. 10 Manitou Springs (12-4) upset No. 7 Frontier Academy (12-4), as Ashley Benson scored twice in the first 15 minutes, to send the Mustangs to the quarterfinals.

TCA 1, Colorado Academy 0

At TCA: No. 1 The Classical Academy (13-2-1) passed a huge test in the second round of the 3A playoffs when freshman Aleesa Muir scored in the second half to give the Titans the win.

GIRLS' LACROSSE

Cheyenne Mountain 11, Columbine 10

At Cheyenne Mountain: Clinging to a one-goal lead and down a player, Cheyenne Mountain goalie Sydney Pinello might have saved her team's season.

Pinello stopped a shot with about 20 seconds left and No. 6 Cheyenne Mountain (15-2) held on to beat No. 11 Columbine (10-6) in the second round of the playoffs.

4A CSML Championships

1. Coronado 194,

2. Woodland Park 143.5,

3. Mesa Ridge 125

At Garry Berry Stadium: Senior Shannon Young won the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 20.38 seconds, junior Lauren Akers won the 1,600 in 5:22.71 and Gabby Roth took the 3,200 in 11:52.20 for Coronado.

5A CSML Championships

1. Pine Creek 199,

2. Fountain-Fort Carson 150, 3. Rampart 115

At Garry Berry Stadium: Behind the tag-team duo dominance of sprints (Alleandra Watt) and distance (Heather Bates), Pine Creek held off the field.

BOYS' TRACK AND FIELD

PPAC Championships

1. Vista Ridge 146,

2. Palmer Ridge 135,

3. Cheyenne Mountain 117

At Cheyenne Mountain: Noah Gabel won the 200 meters (22.36), Dee Lee won the triple jump (43-11) and Vista Ridge won the 800 relay (1:29.74), as the Wolves held off Palmer Ridge.

5A district tournaments

Grand Junction 6, Rampart 3

At ThunderRidge: No. 22 Rampart (12-8) saw its season come to a close at the hands of No. 11 Grand Junction.

4A district tournaments

Windsor 6,

Cheyenne Mountain 4

At D'Evelyn: No. 30 Windsor (13-8) upended the entire district, shocking No. 3 D'Evelyn in the first game and besting No. 14 Cheyenne Mountain (13-8) in the second.

The Indians defeated Broomfield in their opener, but couldn't rally late, managing only one run in the bottom of the seventh.

Northridge 3, Falcon 2

At Northridge: No. 25 Falcon (13-7) lost a heartbreaker, coming up a run short against district host No. 8 Northridge (14-6).

Coronado vs. Evergreen, ppd.

At Northridge: Coronado and Evergreen were tied at 7 in the eighth inning when their game was cut short by rain. They are scheduled to finish Sunday.

3A district tournaments

Faith Christian 9, TCA 2

At Faith Christian: No. 18 The Classical Academy (14-6-1) cruised past No. 15 Sterling (10-8) but fell to district host No. 2 Faith Christian (18-2).
