The Classical Academy 27, Evergreen 14
At TCA: TCA's Dakota Yourkowski played the role of hero Friday.
With TCA (1-1) up 20-14 with less than 1 minute to go in regulation, Yourkowski picked off Evergreen and returned it 58 yards for the score to seal the Titans' fate.
Earlier, Andrew Register ran for 145 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown to go up 17-14 in the third quarter after TCA trailed 14-0 in the first half.
Elsewhere for the Titans, Nathan Loftin scored on an 11-yard run in the first half and kicker Kyle Jacobs split the uprights from 30 and 49 yards.
Columbine 27, Fountain-Fort Carson 12
At Fountain-Fort Carson: Last season, Fountain-Fort Carson poured Gatorade over coach Mitch Johnson's head when it beat Columbine to solidify its 5A No. 1 rank in the state. The Rebels got their revenge as they rallied for 20 points with less than 8 minutes left to shock the Trojans (0-2).
After Charles Tigner gave Fountain-Fort Carson a 12-7 lead with his 3-yard run in the third quarter, the Rebels controlled the rest of the game. Joey Bradford scored on runs of 12 and 60 yards, and the Rebels (2-0) added another score in the closing seconds.
DJ Leatimua gave Fountain-Fort Carson a 6-0 lead with a 2-yard run with about 8 minutes left in the first quarter.
Pueblo West 27, Rampart 6
At Rampart: It was a very long night for Rampart (1-1).
Pueblo West's Kamron Clough scored an 80-yard rushing touchdown to open the game and Kaden Willis scored twice in the second half. Cameron Hacker's 3-yard blast was Rampart's only points.
Northridge 31, Lewis-Palmer 20
At Lewis-Palmer: Lewis-Palmer (0-3) waffled away a 20-7 lead as Northridge rallied for 24 straight points. Paul Tillotson ran for a 1-yard score and threw a 15-yard TD to Cole Bower in the loss.
Tristen Gerk hit both his field-goal attempts in the first half to help give Lewis-Palmer its most points scored this season by the end of the first half (20).
Cheyenne Mountain 21, Palmer 14
At D-11 Stadium: The first half was all offense. The second half was all defense . and then some.
Cheyenne Mountain quarterback Mitch Guhl threw three touchdowns in the first half, ran for another 100 yards, and the Indians (1-1) held on to stop a Hail Mary chance from Palmer (0-2) in the closing seconds to grab their first win of the season.
Cheyenne Mountain and Palmer were blown out by 40-plus points in their Week 1 matchups.
Next up, the Indians face Vista Ridge and the Terrors travel to Legend.
Liberty 28, Woodland Park 27 OT
At Woodland Park: Liberty (1-1) rallied in the second half and squeaked by Woodland Park (1-1) in overtime.
The Lancers' converted extra-point in overtime was the difference.
