Catholic Charities of Central Colorado will host a seven-week parenting program, created by the Love and Logic Institute Inc., designed to offer practical techniques for enhancing the parent-child relationship.
"Becoming a Love and Logic Parent" classes will help participants address common parenting issues, from getting kids to embrace early schedules and help with chores to calmly dealing with sibling conflict.
The classes, led by trained volunteers, are free and materials are provided.
"It's specifically for people who otherwise might not be able to afford it," said Eric Evans, director of client services for Catholic Charities.
"We want to make sure people have the opportunity to become better parents, and we want to make sure economic status doesn't get in the way of that."
The Golden-based Love and Logic Institute crafts programs and curricula for parents that encourage a child's thoughtful, independent decision-making, healthy social development and accountability.
Classes are 4-5:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Feb. 19 at The Hanifen Center at The Marian House, 14 W. Bijou St. Call 866-6283 or email email@example.com for information and to register.
