A woman allegedly cut her ex-boyfriend with a knife after he accosted her Monday afternoon at the Marian House Soup Kitchen downtown, Colorado Springs police said.

The woman feared for her safety and defended herself with the knife, police said.

The man, Corey Alexander, 35, suffered only superficial cuts, police said. After he is released from the hospital, he will be booked into jail on suspicion of domestic violence and violating a protection order previously obtained by the woman, police said.
