Colorado Springs police and EOD Unit investigated a suspicious package turned in by a woman at the Stetson Hills police substation.

Barbara Miller, police spokeswoman, said the package was moved outside into the parking lot, which was shut down as a precaution, at about 10:21 a.m.

Reportedly, the woman had received the package through regular mail service, Miller said.

The building was not evacuated as EOD examined the package.

The package was determined to be harmless and the situation was resolved shortly before noon.

On their blotter, police reminded the public not to handle a suspicious package, whether they find or receive it, but to call police immediately.
