A man held up a 7-Eleven store early Thursday morning in northeastern Colorado Springs, police said.

Just before 1 a.m., he went into the store at 6040 Barnes Road and threatened the clerk "with a club of some type" and demanded money, Colorado Springs police said. Based on video surveillance footage, police believe the club was a "novelty bat," like a miniature but real baseball bat.

The man then fled in a car headed eastbound and he was last seeing wearing a motorcycle helmet. Police did not say how much money the man took.
