A man who police believe kidnapped a woman and was found with a gunshot wound to his head outside a car on Interstate 25 Tuesday afternoon died from his injuries, police said Wednesday morning.
His time of death was not released.
Police said the man was driving on I-25 near Circle Drive when he apparently had a domestic dispute with a woman. The woman jumped out of the vehicle while it was moving, police said.
The man then drove the vehicle into a highway median before pulling it onto the side of the road, police said.
He exited the vehicle and shot himself, police said. He died at the hospital.
Police have not released the names of the man or the woman.
Police said the woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a hospital.
Traffic on southbound I-25 was shut down for nearly two hours while police investigated the incident.
