A man who was allegedly paid to buy marijuana for minors was caught with suspected LSD in downtown Colorado Springs Wednesday, police said.

David Frederick, 35, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a schedule I substance and intent to distribute, records show.

According to police reports, officers saw "suspicious activity" near Monument Valley Park and interviewed several people under 21 who alleged Frederick had been paid to buy marijuana for them.

Police found Frederick at the corner of East Pikes Peak Avenue and Tejon Street about 4 p.m. and allegedly saw him throw items in a trash can.

Frederick was detained and officers recovered $771 in cash from the trash and suspected LSD, police said.
