Two robberies at gas stations targeted by a knife-wielding thief just hours apart may be related.
Colorado Springs police said they're looking into similarities between the two, namely that a man used a knife to threaten staff in both robberies before getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
During the first robbery at Diamond Shamrock, 1740 Jet Wing Drive, the man didn't hesitate when he walked in about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, produced a knife and demanded money.
Nearly five hours later, a man dressed in dark clothing also robbed a store about 4 miles away.
Police say the man walked into a Circle K at 2890 S. Circle Drive but didn't immediately raise suspicion. The man bought something shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday before pulling out his knife and taking cash from the drawer.
A suspect has not been identified in either robbery.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call police at 719-444-7000 or leave an anonymous tip with Pikes Peak Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867.
