DENVER (AP) — Police say a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in southwest Denver.

Department spokesman Sonny Jackson says the man, whose name and age have not been released, was crossing Federal Boulevard near Dartmouth Street when he was struck by a car and thrown into the opposite lane of traffic at about 11 p.m. Saturday. The Denver Post reports (http://bit.ly/1qmfs6Q ) another vehicle hit the man and left the scene.

Police arrested 19-year-old Eliu Jiminez a short time later a few blocks away. He is being held for investigation of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a fatal accident and DUI.
