Colorado Springs police said a DUI stop early Saturday led to a foot chase and arrest that yielded narcotics and cash.

Police stopped a car at about 2 a.m. near Austin Bluffs Parkway and Barnes Road. Police said the driver, later identified as Sergio Sanchez, appeared to be intoxicated, and when officers attempted to arrest him, he took off on foot and dashed into a nearby apartment complex.

Police caught up with Sanchez a short time later when they said he fell from a two-story building and sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.

That's when police said they discovered Sanchez was carrying a "large amount" of narcotics and cash.

Sanchez was treated for his injuries and arrested, police said.
