By Andrea Sinclair Published: June 23, 2013

Colorado Springs Police recovered the vehicle they say was involved in the fatal hit-and-run that killed Elizabeth A. Marshal, 31, on Wednesday night.

The Major Accident Unit received a tip Saturday and located the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, according to a police news release.

The vehicle will be examined by the crime lab, but no arrests have been made, police said.

Marshal, of Colorado Springs, was killed when the Chevy Sonic struck her as she attempted to cross Platte Avenue near Iowa Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Marshal was thrown some 150 feet and lodged under a parked pickup truck, said Kevin Zirfas, an employee of the Black Sheep nightclub who saw the impact. The car continued east on Platte.

"It sounded like two cars colliding," Zirfas said. "I was surprised the car didn't stop, slow down or anything. They just kept driving on through."

Police said the investigation is active and they are pursuing every lead.
