Footprints in freshly fallen snow led police to a man who allegedly was going door to door in a Colorado Springs neighborhood early Thursday morning in hopes of finding an unlocked home to invade.

Paul Gonzales, 38, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing shortly after 1 a.m. He allegedly entered a house in the 1500 block of East Platte Avenue.

Police officers took advantage of the fresh snow, tracked Gonzales to several homes in the area, and finally found him hiding in a yard.
