The Gazette - Published: May 5, 2013

Colorado Springs police were searching for the man who alledgedly assaulted a group of children with pepper spray during an altercation Sunday.

According to a police news release, four 13-year-old boys were in the playground at Enfield Apartments, on the 3000 block of Illinois Avenue, near Fillmore Street around 1 p.m.

One of the male teens got into an argument with an 8-year-old boy also at the playground and may have assaulted the younger boy who left shortly after, police said.

A few minutes later, a gold-colored vehicle driven by an unidentified man pulled up to the four juveniles in the area of 2nd Street and Virginia Avenue. Police said a woman passenger yelled obscenities at the boys and the male driver approached the boys, chastising them for assaulting his son.

Police say the man then sprayed the boys with pepper spray.

Medical responders were dispatched to treat the kids' injuries.

Police described the male suspect as 6 feet tall, very heavy build, in his 40s, with a shaved head. The suspect vehicle was described as a gold-colored Toyota or Honda .
