Only 12 minutes after announcing a lockdown at Mitchell High School "due to police activity near the Citadel crossing area," Colorado Springs School District 11 sent a tweet saying the lockdown had been lifted.

Officers were searching for suspects in an attempted robbery, which happened about 2 p.m. at a liquor store in the 4300 block of Galley Road, police said.

The school is at 1205 Potter Drive.
