A clerk at a 7-Eleven in downtown Colorado Springs told police he was assaulted Sunday night when he refused access to the store's restroom.

Three men and three women entered the 7-Eleven at 3 North Tejon Street about 10 p.m. and the clerk told them customers weren't allowed to use the bathroom because of past vandalism, according to police.

One of the men went behind the counter and punched the clerk, as the others reportedly damaged a cash register, but did not take any money, police said. The clerk was not injured.

The men and women left in an unknown vehicle and have not been located, police said.

Anyone with information can call police at 444-7000.
