A Cessna aircraft was force to land in a field outside of Peyton on Thursday morning after the plane lost power.

The plane landed south of the intersection of Eastonville Road and Bandanero Drive, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

The pilot and one passenger are uninjured and there is no significant damage to the plane.

The plane had only been in a the air a few seconds after it took off from Meadow Lake airport, according to police radios.

The pilot called the sheriff's office after the landing, around 7:24 a.m., and both the sheriff's office and the Falcon Fire Department responded. By 8 a.m., deputies and the fire department were working on getting the plane out of the field.
