Alpine fun in the summer

Now there are even more reasons to speed up the hills to Breckenridge. Epic Discovery, the town's must-do for folks who love the outdoors, will debut several new experiences this summer. The Alpineer Challenge Course offers 16 challenges, the Interpretive Trail with Animal Abilities and Story Stakes is a new .75 mile hiking loop, the Gold Summit Climbing Wall features a 35-foot tall climbing wall with 13 routes, and the Expedition Zip Line Tour on Peak Z offers eight ways to fly through the skies. Similar adventures await at down the road at sister resort Vail's Epic Discovery zip lines, mountain coaster and gondola ride, among others. Summer operations at both resorts begin June 9; breckenridge.com; vail.com ~Jen Mulson

Nick Cave doc shows the artist at his most vulnerable

I watched "One More Time with Feeling," the black and white documentary on musician Nick Cave, and sat paralyzed at the end. In true Cave fashion, the film has an avant garde, genre-bending feel. The moments of him and the Bad Seeds in studio recording their dark album, "Skeleton Tree," are pretty wondrous cinematic moments. Other moments are heart-wrenching, with Cave grieving over the recent death of his son. Those are what make the movie special, capturing one of this generation's most perplexing artists in maybe his most vulnerable place. Now streaming on Amazon. ~Seth Boster
