Today, March 14, is Pi Day (hopefully for obvious reasons), and the local pi-themed pie joint is throwing a shindig in honor of pi, aka 3.14159265359. The aptly named 3.14 Sweet & Savory Pi Bar, 5152 Centennial Blvd., sells “pis” of the regular, savory and hand variety. Some of the fun planned there on the mathematically significant day are Pi for Pie contests hosted by a local math teacher; math-related trivia, raffles, and music by Deryk Cunningham. Activities got underway at 11 a.m. and run through 10 p.m. Info: https://goo.gl/RkCCOH
