I finally went to church for beer - the opportunity made possible last year by Local Relic when the local brewery opened a tasting room in the historic Carter Payne Chapel downtown. I left singing praises.

The brew list is mighty impressive, stacked with peculiar, high-grav IPAs, wilds and stouts. Four taps were set up, and the choices extended to the shelf of $11 pint bottles, to be enjoyed in tiny glasses and shared in this group atmosphere.

Located at 320 S. Weber St. Limited hours Thursday-Saturday.
