A mobile home in Peyton was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived to battle the blaze Thursday, which the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said remained an active structure fire.

A huge plume of smoke was visible for miles from a mobile home on the 17300 block of Jones Road, south of Falcon Highway and west of N. Peyton Highway, said sheriff's spokesman Lt. Jeff Kramer.

The fire was first reported at 10:40 a.m. and no details on what may have caused it have been released.

No injuries were reported, Kramer said.

The Falcon, Peyton, Black Forest, Donald Wescott, Ellicott and Fire Rehab fire departments responded to the blaze. Kramer said it was still burning by 11:30 a.m.
