A pedestrian was seriously injured early Saturday morning after getting hit by a car while trying to cross North Powers Boulevard near North Carefree Circle, police said.

The pedestrian was not in the crosswalk when a vehicle traveling north on Powers hit the pedestrian at about 3 a.m. Saturday. The driver of the vehicle was not charged in the incident and alcohol was not suspected as a contributing factor for the driver, police reported.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital for serious injury.
