This year in Springfield, all 35 PBR riders participated in an autograph session at Bass Pro Shops flagship store.

PUEBLO, Colorado (Sept. 19, 2016) – With nearly 175,000 pounds of world championship bull stock and the world’s 35 toughest athletes on dirt, the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) will return to Broadmoor World Arena for the third consecutive year on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24-25, for the Rumble in the Rockies, brought to fans locally by Sonic. The event is the 22nd of 27 stops on the 2016 PBR Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS).

Before all of the heart-stopping, eight-second, edge-of-the-seat excitement begins, the PBR will kick off the weekend with several opportunities for fans to get up close and personal with both the human and bovine stars of the world’s greatest bull riding organization.

On Friday, Sept. 23 the PBR will bring its one-of-a-kind experience to Walmart at 4425 Venetucci Blvd. from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. with an interactive exhibit where fans can play games, win tickets to the PBR event, meet the world’s top bull riders and get up close and personal with a few of the sport’s best bucking bulls. Then, Boot Barn at 5625 N. Academy will host several riders in their store for an autograph session.

The excitement will then move to downtown Colorado Springs with the PBR’s first-ever BULLevard Bash. The party starts at 5 p.m. on Tejon Street between Kiowa and Pikes Peak with live music courtesy of iHeartRadio, a Bud Light Beer Garden, autograph sessions with the stars of the PBR, live bulls and vendor displays to engage fans of all ages.

“With the help of great partnerships with the Sports Corp., Bud Light, iHeartRadio and Sam Guadagnoli of The Mansion and Cowboy’s [Night Club], PBR is thrilled to bring the BULLevard Bash to our fans in Colorado Springs,” said PBR CEO Sean Gleason. “It’s going to be a weekend of Western fun, hospitality and the best bull riders and bulls in the world. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the party.”

The Josh Abbott Band will headline the musical entertainment on the Cooper Tires Stage during the BULLevard Bash.  The Texas country band has released four albums, most recently “Front Row Seat.” The band’s popular single, “Touch,” from their third album, “Small Town Family Dream,” was featured in the motion picture “The Longest Ride,” the 20th Century Fox adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ best-selling novel about a PBR bull rider.

Opening for the Josh Abbott Band will be Drake White, The Last Bandoleros and Tara Thompson.

In addition to the music, fans will also be able to enjoy food and drink specials provided by The Mansion, Cowboys Night Club and other establishments in the vicinity.

The party will continue on until 10 p.m.

On Saturday morning, Sept. 24, fans will be invited to join the bull riders, staff, bulls and others for the Rider Relief Fund’s 3rd Annual Support the Sport 5K, presented by Cooper Tires. The Rider Relief Fund helps those injured in the sport of bull riding; all proceeds raised from registration fees will go to the fund and cowboys in need.

The 5K race will take place at Quail Lake.  Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m. Goodie bags and t-shirts will be given to the first 200 registrants and PBR prizes will be presented to the race winners.  To register, visit: https://runsignup.com/Race/CO/ColoradoSprings/SupportTheSport5k.

On Saturday afternoon there will be several opportunities for fans to meet and interact with the bull riders. From 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Bass Pro Shops will host a multitude of events around the PBR. Riders will sign autographs, while fans can try their hand at the mechanical bull on site. PBR Announcer Clint Atkins will also host a fishing seminar.

Then from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Walmart at 707 S. 8th Street, the PBR Experience will again be on display. A Metro PCS autograph session will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 3347 N. Academy.

Later that evening, Round One of the Rumble in the Rockies starts at 7 p.m.  Round 2 and the Built Ford Tough Championship Round will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets for both days, start at $20 and can be purchased at the World Arena Box Office, Ticketswest.com, by phone at 719-520-SHOW or (800) 732-1727.

With valid military I.D. presented at the Broadmoor World Arena box office, military personnel will receive a 25 percent discount on all levels of tickets. The discount will also apply to the PBR Elite Seats, which provide access to an exclusive seating section and pre-show, behind-the-scenes tours and meet and greets with the PBR stars. Priced at $300, PBR Elite Seat tickets can be purchased by contacting the PBR’s Customer Service Department at 800 732 1727.
