Gazette Premium Content Palmer Lake Elementary School to hold 31st annual Fun Run benefit

Palmer Lake Elementary School will host its 31st annual July Fourth Fun Run. The four-mile race will begin at 7 a.m. on Thursday at the Palmer Lake Santa Fe Trailhead and end in Monument in time for the parade. Transportation back to Palmer Lake after the run also will be available. There also will be a kids' fun run with prizes.

Take I-25 north to County Line Road, exit 163. Turn west and go for 2.5 miles. Just before the railroad crossing, on the left, is the parking lot and trailhead.

Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for youth. Proceeds will benefit the school's parent-teacher organization, which helps the school provide family and community activities, field trips, library books wish lists for teachers and school supplies.

Register at, or pick up a registration packet at the Palmer Lake and Monument libraries. The packets will be available 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the school, 115 Upper Glenway, Palmer Park, or 5:30-6:30 a.m. at registration tables on race day, at an increased cost.
