Three people were displaced by a fire early Thursday morning at an apartment complex near The Citadel mall, according to our news partners at KOAA.

The fire was at the Santa Fe Apartments, located at 3600 block of Marion Drive, north of the mall, according to the Colorado Springs Fire Department.

Crews responded to the fire about 3:30 a.m., according to a KRDO report, and extinguished it in about 15 minutes.

Two men and a woman lost an apartment, firefighters told KRDO. They were taken to the hospital as a precaution, firefighters said.

Firefighters said one cat died in the fire.
